Collateral Taylor Lines

As of Jun 2021 there are two possible collateral lines of James Taylor I (d. 1698, VA).  Descendants of the two lines seem to share common DNA.  Somewhere back not too far in (probably) England there is possibly a common ancestor that connects these Taylor branches:

  • Rev. Daniel Taylor line–He was b. abt 1679 probably in England & was of New Kent Co., VA, d. abt Oct 1729.  He probably married Miss Martha (or Mary) Squire.  Their son was also Rev. Daniel Taylor of New Kent & King William Counties, VA, who married Alice Littlepage.
  • Shadrack Taylor line–He was b. abt 1730 in Accomack Co., VA, & d. bef 29 Aug 1769 & married Keziah Staton.  He descends from James Taylor I of Accomack Co., VA, who married Elizabeth Benston, daughter of Francis Benston & Ann unknown.  Their son was James Taylor II of Accomack Co., VA (wife unknown).  Their son was James Taylor III of Accomack Co., VA (wife unknown). These three James Taylors are not to be confused with the three James Taylors of New Kent, King & Queen/Caroline, & Orange Counties, VA, who married Frances? Walker?/Mary Gregory (James I), Martha Thompson (James II), & Alice Thornton (James III).
